Toolmaker, West Bromwich, to £17 per hour My client manufactures metal pressings and assemblies for a wide range of customers. They are looking to expand their team and wish to recruit a proven and experienced Toolmaker. Responsible for repairing and maintaining press tools and welding jigs and fixtures and assisting in solving production problems in the press shop.*You must be reliable and a good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the production department.*You will be expected to comply with the Companies Health and Safety procedures and report any Health and Safety issues to the Toolroom Team Leader.*Able to work on their own and be able to use their own initiative.*Able to repair and maintain press tools from 45- ton to 400-ton single operation and progression tools.*Oversee any tool / jig modifications when required.*Trouble shoot and problem solve on tools that are in press.*Use all standard toolroom equipment in a safe and professional manner.*You need to be a good communicator and team player and support other members of staff in the toolroom.*Responsible for filling in the relevant tool notes and returning them to the Toolroom Leading Hand or Toolroom Team Leader.*Expected to work over if the need arises.*Carry out any tasks within the scope and abilities of the above. The Toolroom Manager may provide these verbally or in writing, such as expectations or improvement requests.The successful candidate will: - *Be able to repair/maintain tools to a high standard.*Be able to use manual toolroom equipment i.e. Surface Grinders, Lathe, Millers etc.*Adhere to housekeeping to be kept to required standard.*Assist the Toolroom Team Leader in any task set. *Support production in a technical manor.39hrs per week from 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday.7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays. The successful applicant will have experience of high volume, precision press toolmaking, utilising tungsten carbide components, and can exhibit exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills. All skill levels are considered from recently qualified Toolmaker apprentice to seasoned toolmaker considered.
