My client is an established manufacturing company supporting the Automotive Industry. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance and control processes within the company. This role emphasises ensuring compliance with the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) standards, along with maintaining other quality management systems. You will lead a team of quality professionals, driving continuous improvement and maintaining the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities: –
• Quality Management System (QMS): –
• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949 standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify the effectiveness of the QMS.

Leadership and Team Management: –
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality inspectors and engineers.
• Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and support to the quality team.

Process Improvement: –
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement effective solutions.
• Utilize tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis to drive quality improvements.
• Monitor and analyse quality performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Customer Focus: –
• Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters with customers.
• Address customer concerns and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their quality requirements and expectations.

Supplier Quality Management: –
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure their processes and products meet the company’s quality standards.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments, driving improvements in supplier quality performance.
• Manage the approval process for new suppliers and materials.

Documentation and Reporting: –
• Maintain comprehensive records of quality activities, audits, and improvements.
• Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management.
• Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible.

Regulatory Compliance: –
• Stay informed of industry regulations and standards, ensuring the company’s compliance.
• Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance with evolving regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies as needed.

KPI’s: –
• Maintain IATF 16949 certification and compliance.
• Reduction in customer complaints and returns.
• Supplier quality improvement metrics.
• Cost Of Quality.
• Internal Audits Completed to Plan.
• Customer 8D.
• External PPM.

Qualifications: –
• Proven experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive sector.
• In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and their application in a manufacturing setting. Must be a lead auditor.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in quality management tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality data and metrics.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• A relevant degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.

The Quality Manager typically works in the Quality Office. The role may require occasional travel to suppliers, logistics providers, or customer sites.
