CNC Setter / Operator, Telford, Salary Negotiable
My client is an established and very successful manufacturing company producing precision products from their facility in Telford. They are looking to expand their manufacturing / engineering team by adding a new CNC Setter / Operator.
You will be responsible for day-to-day machining activities, setting and operating CNC machines predominately Mazak’s. The role will entail turning with some milling.
If you have the proven CNC machining setting and operating skills with turning experience (some milling would be good) then this role could be ideal. Supporting qualification would also be advantageous but experience is key.

Accountabilities: ![]()
*Responsible for the day to day running of the Laser Cutting Machine making sure production output matches the requirements on the build plan.![]()
*It is desirable that the Setter has knowledge of setting and operating Press Brake machines, although this is not essential.![]()
*You will be responsible for job changeovers/tool changes and the swift assistance to any breakdowns.![]()
*Ensure correct procedures are always followed with regards to ‘first off’s’ of each part run, making sure first offs are taken into and signed off by the Quality Dept. and the accurate recording of hourly checks/downtime/changeovers etc.![]()
*Ensure the Laser is set and running before leaving each day.![]()
*Must be fully competent with regards any further development work, being able to produce samples of new parts, as and when required.![]()
*Booking all work manufactured onto the MRP system in real-time, as well as ensuring works orders are added to each bin of work produced.![]()
*Responsible for always keeping CNC Laser area clean and tidy, making sure all parts are kept in the correct place on a daily basis.![]()
*Keep a check on all stocks of tooling and raise any new tool requirements as early as possible to maintain tool inventory.![]()
*Supervise and assist any other operators working in the area, helping with any issues raised passing on expertise, as and when required.![]()
*Provide support to Team Leader.![]()
*You must be reliable and a good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the department.![]()
*Carry out any tasks within the scope and abilities of the function other than those listed above. ![]()

Hours: Mon-Thur 7.30am-4.30pm, Friday 7.30am-12.30pm![]()
