My client is a specialist in the heavy engineering sector producing components for the Oil, Gas & Petro-Chemical Industry. They are actively seeking to recruit a Project Manager.
Responsibility for successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. Monitoring risk awareness. Excellent organisational skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Good communication and negotiation skills. The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure.Managing client expectations and reporting on a timely basis. Reporting accurate contractual information & updates to Departmental Managers & sub-contractors on a timely basis.
Liaise with sales, production departments, customers & supply chain. Ability to work in a methodical, accurate manner to produce the required standard of documentation and reports. To preserve the reputation of the Company to ensure the product and materials are compliant to the order. Customer facing with the ability to maintain relationships at all levels.
The purpose of the job: –
- To oversee, manage and be accountable for projects from the start through to completion, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget and meeting client expectations. Exceptional Customer service. Procurement of production & non production items.
Key responsibilities: –
·Work in accordance with ISO 9001.
·Plan work and critical dates, organise resources and set deadlines in line with the Company &client’s needs to ensure demands are met.
·To understand and interpret working drawings and sales order requirements. In depth understanding of welding procedures and welders qualifications.
·Issue production documentation in a timely manner.
·Ensuring compliance with relevant industry codes.
·Monitor& co-ordinate work to ensure it’s on time and within budget.
·Identify and manage potential risks to ensure delivery is on time.
·Implement changes throughout the process.
·Manage updates & report regularly, accurate information to management, departmental managers, client, third party sub-contractors.
·To complete the project work in line with the plan.
·To negotiate sub contract orders and monitor sub-contractors performance ensuring critical dates are met.
·Ability to prioritise tasks. To create and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the businesses personnel.
·Communication of contractual changes to Customer, Supplier, departmental managers and business colleagues in a timely manner.
·To resolve contract related issues that come up whether internally or externally.
·Oversee the product build and complete contract close out.
·Keep, record & maintain accurate documentation.
·To maintain a co-ordinated approach towards procurement and contract management for the Company. Seeking value for money, relationship and performance management of suppliers. Serving as a single point of contact for all contractual and purchasing matters.
·Understand Customer needs and requirements.
·Understand supplier & sub-contractor needs and requirements.
·Procurement of production & non production items. Explore different purchasing options to maintain or improve the Company’s budgets.
·To raise, record & issue purchase orders and amendments.
·Reconcile invoices against purchase orders when required.
·To provide support for the Managing Director & business personnel.
·Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop, new efficient procedures.
·Advocating as the ‘voice of the Customer’ demanding the highest quality expectations from the organisation.
·Play an active role in driving Customer service.
·Executing the duties of the position such that the focus is largely proactive versus reactive.
Proven experience and skills in Project Management gained within an Engineering / Manufacturing environment. Heavy engineering knowledge would be an advantage. Supporting qualifications.
